About Us

Beyond Labels & Limitations was founded by John Graybill II and his parents, John and Kathy Graybill in September 2007. The idea behind starting a non-profit organization came after a meeting John and his mother had with Mr. Kostas Kalogeropoulous in the summer of 2007. Mr. Kostas, as he likes to be called, founded a non profit organization of his own called Dream Come True in 1984. Dream Come True is an organization that seeks to fulfill the dreams of children who are seriously, chronically and terminally ill and reside in the greater Lehigh Valley area.

Meeting with Mr. Kostas and seeing the passion he had for his own organization and helping children, John felt the urge to start an organization to help people with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy 2A. After researching the internet and finding no organizations out there raising money specifically for Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy 2A along with providing longitudinal personal information dealing with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy 2A, the need to form an organization was created.

Beyond Labels & Limitations has one goal in mind and that is to find a cure for Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy 2A within the next ten years. Beyond Labels & Limitations plans on accomplishing this goal through fundraising events, public speaking appearances, and the generous donations from desire-driven people who wish to assist in putting an end to Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy 2A and more broadly, Muscular Dystrophy. Ninety (90) percent of all funds received on behalf of Beyond Labels & Limitations will benefit research exclusively for Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy 2A. The remaining ten (10) percent of funds received on behalf of Beyond Labels & Limitations will go toward the cost of maintaining the organization.
